Communal LoungeGeneral Notes

Residents are able to register with a local National Health Service Doctor.

Churches the area is well served by all denominations including Church of England, Roman Catholic, Baptist, United Reform and Congregational. The local Clergy also conducts a Communion Service for the Residents every month

The Mobile County Library visits Austenmead on a regular basis.

A visiting Chiropodist and Hairdresser by arrangement with the House Manager.

Potential residents, their relatives and sponsors are invited to visit Austenmead at any time, by arrangement with the House Manager, Jose Rodrigues and are quite welcome to stay for a meal. Arrangements can also be made for potential residents to stay for a trial period before making a definite commitment.

Whilst every effort will be made to hold places for prospective new residents, the Committee cannot undertake to do this indefinitely and accordingly maintain the right to accept new residents who make a outright positive commitment, in preference to those on the waiting list who have not yet made up their minds."

The Applications Secretary, the House Manager and all members of the Committee will, at all times, do their best to answer any questions or complaints that residents or prospective residents or the relatives and sponsors may have.
