Austenmead Meals and DiningResident's Meals

Two main cooked meals are served each day in the residents dining room, lunch at 12.30pm and high tea at 6.30pm. Residents are permitted to invite up to two guests to either meal, provided that prior notice is given to the House Manager.

Residents are expected to prepare their own breakfasts. For this purpose there are communal residents' kitchens on each floor and which are stocked with a regular supply of breakfast cereals, milk, tea, coffee, yogurt, bread, marmalade, butter etc. This arrangement enables residents to rise in the morning at whatever time they wish, and to have breakfast in their own rooms, without the formality of a set breakfast time.

Our aim is to provide a varied diet of high quality, home-cooked food prepared on site by a professional chef. A typical daily menu of what is served would be:

Breakfast
Residents help themselves to cereals, milk, yogurts, etc from the Pantry

Lunch ( Main meal of the day)
Roast Lamb ( from local butcher) / Roast Potatoes, Two freshly cooked vegetables with Mint Sauce
Home Made Rice Pudding with Sultanas
